Apparently I’m Now Selling Viagra

The ingenuity of online scammers is impressive. Do a Google search for “Leicaphilia” and this is what comes up. Clink on the link and it sends you to a site that sells Viagra. Any ideas?

No idea, it’s extremely weird. The link literally points to your web site, but when I click on it I get redirected to a viagra store.

Opening the link in an incognito tab takes me to your site. Copying and pasting the link takes me to your web site. It’s only when I click the link from the google search results that I get redirected.

A search suggests that you’ve been hacked. This is a very cunning hack that preserves your web site as-is, but redirects people who come in from google searches.

My ‘full of protective plugins’ firefox (on Linux) sent me to the correct site, too. So either google has noticed and cleaned it or their tricks won’t work for all browsers and operating systems

It’s still coming up Viagra on the computer with Firefox and Chrome, and also on the iPad with whatever that has – Safari?

I only get proper access via my old link on LuLa.

Bugger these idiots. As they have an address and can ship goods (perhaps!) I’d have thought it very easy for Google to close them down.

It’s freaking disgusting! The sheer use of your blog!
When a site needs to hijack someone else’s blog, ya gotta think “looser” or scam..
I try to enter few times to by pass these worms..

Ah, Viagra!! My BIL, who is in his mid 60s and considers such things of great importance to his life, took it and had a heart attack (fortunately minor and he survived it). Apparently 1 in 5 users can fall prey to ticker problems. Bad jokes from “hard” to “heart” were called for, and to his credit he laughed. Me, I am a firm (another bad pun, sorry) believer in Que Sera Sera, but then I’m 74 and well into another phase of my hopefully long(er) life. After 70, so the old joke goes, one tends to become a sexual intellectual – which is to say, to put it politely, that you tend to do more serious thinking about it. I can still take 10 kilometer treks with my 1954 Leica iif (50/2.0 Summitar and 50/2.0 Summicron, both like their owner a bit hazy but still good image makers), so I hope I will be good for a few more years and many more photo treks yet to come. To say it again, Que Sera Sera (or “QSS” for short).

Yours is the best of very few photo web sites I bother with nowadays. the thinking man’s Leica grab bag. Well worth reading. You enjoy life with your lovely wife and you are still able to get out and about, so it’s good. Cameras keep the mind and the spirit young. A good wife and a faithful dog help too. As a cat man with a Leica and cat loving partner, I heartily agree in my own way. Meow!!

Please keep on posting. I will keep on reading. Long may we both go on going on…

    Bugger Covid!!
